Training the Scottish Deerhound will be moderately easy for experienced owners, perhaps a bit tougher for those without. Results will be gradual though as while it is eager to please and mild mannered, it can be sometimes stubborn. While it responds it tends to be slow and easy at its own pace. Keep the training sessions engaging, upbeat and offer plenty of praise, treats, rewards and encouragement.
